Abstract
I intend this morning to tell a story. All of you will know parts of thestory, and some of you may know much ofit—but, that’s OK—anniversaries are anoccasion to repeat the tale. And by lookingback at our past, we improve our visioninto the future. You’re, of course, celebrating INMM’shalf-century mark this week. At the IAEAwe celebrated ours just last year. And duringthose five decades the two organizationshave travelled a number of roadstogether, complementing each other’sefforts in controlling nuclear material.Today I’ve been asked to give theIAEA perspective on those fifty years.
