Abstract
A Bayesian approach to estimate the radiation signature in vehicleprofiles is presented. In the setting of interest, the backgroundcount rate, the profile length, and the background suppressiondue to the vehicle all vary from vehicle to vehicle. The Bayesianapproach provides uncertainty estimates and an effective way toenforce constraints, such as the radiation source signature beingnonnegative. Results of an experiment consisting of adding syntheticsignals into real signal-free profiles are included.
