Abstract
Anniversaries provide a focus for commemoration, reflection, andanticipation. The fiftieth anniversary of the founding of theInternational Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is no exception. Ishould therefore like to preface this special edition of the Journal ofNuclear Materials Management with some personal observations,which I hope will set the scene for the dedicated articles that follow.
