Abstract
The 9981 Type AF Shipping container was an adaptation from the 9979 Type AF container. It was designed to carry a heavier payload to meet customer needs. Changes in the design necessary to contain the heavier payload required additional testing for both Normal Conditions of Transport (NCT) and Hypothetical Accident Conditions (HAC). Due to the need to use multiple facilities and work between several groups completion of the testing required significant planning and coordination. This paper describes the planning, execution and results of the 9981 testing.
