Abstract
Nuclear facility requires safety, security and safeguards. Nuclear security aims to protect, detect and respond to theft, sabotage, access by unauthorized, illegal transfer or other crimes involving nuclear materials or radioactive material and associated facilities. Theft of nuclear materials is one of the serious nuclear threat which comes from outside or inside. To avoid the theft of nuclear materials, nuclear facility must have a system of layered security. Access to the inside on a nuclear facility shall be made double and only for the authorized. Scanner technology has been applied to the entry control system. This technology only allows an access for the data that meets the requirements. Biometric is a technologies to measure and analyze human physiological and behaviorial characteristics which is unique to every individual. Hence biometric can be used to verify and identify an individual. Multimodal biometric security systems combine and integrate several biometric systems. This combination was applied to the entry control system in a nuclear facility. This verification aplied in every acces control serially. This technology overcomes the single biometric limitation. Multimodal biometric system will avoid piracy verification because it uses a multilevel system. Based on studies conducted combination of iris, fingerprint and face will produce the highest grade of security, however the combination of various combinations remain possible to raise the grade of each type of biometric security at nuclear facilities
