Abstract
The Integrated Support Center for Nuclear Non-proliferation and Nuclear Security (ISCN) of Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) has conducted (with collaborations with JAEA other centers) the following basic technology development programs of advanced non-destructive detection/ measurement of nuclear material (NM) for nuclear security and nuclear non-proliferation since its establishment. ?Measurement test of the using PNAR(passive neutron albedo reactivity)-NDA system for Fugen SFAs (spent fuel assemblies) (JAEA/USDOE(LANL) collaboration)(JFY2011-JFY2013) ?Basic development of NRF (nuclear resonance fluorescence)-NDA technologies using laser Compton scattered (LCS) gamma-rays (Demonstration of an intense mono-energetic gamma-ray source) (JFY2011-JFY2014) ?Development of alternative to 3He neutron detection technology (JFY2011-JFY2014) ?Development of NRD (neutron resonance densitometry) (JAEA/JRC collaboration) (JFY2012-JFY2014) ISCN has just started the following new programs (also with collaborations with JAEA other centers). ?Demonstration of NRF-non-destructive detection technology for nuclear security using LCS gamma - rays ?Development of active neutron NDA techniques using a pulsed neutron (D-T) source ?Feasibility study on monitoring technology for Pu solution with fission products in tanks inside cell This paper presents the results of basic technology development programs already done and introduces above new programs.
