Abstract
This paper provides a brief update on the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Global Threat Reduction Initiative program’s to return U.S.-origin foreign research reactor fuel and Gap nuclear materials. It will discuss recent program accomplishments, initiatives, and future activities. The goal of the two programs is to recover U.S.-origin and Gap nuclear materials that could be used by terrorists to make an improvised nuclear device.
