Abstract
Over the last six years, TID development has been an international technology collaboration between the Russian Federal Nuclear Centers and the US National Laboratories. The potential application of these devices in the field is to monitor and control access to hazardous items for the RF Minatom and RF Ministry of Defense. The most advanced technologies in this field are discussed as well as designs and specifications for TID’s incorporating these technologies. Also discussed are the results of testing many of these devices at VNIIEF test beds, including the Facility-to-Facility (F2F) Demonstration Facility. The paper describes their application for the purpose of monitoring of RF Minatom containers with fissile materials and RF MOD containers with nuclear weapons and/or their components.
