Abstract
A model for simulating a Compton camera is described. The model employs the Geant4 physics code to simulate a distributed 239Pu source within stainless steel piping. A three dimensional imaging modality called Surface Mesh Back Projection (SMBP) is introduced. Various nuclear safeguards scenarios are modeled and 3D images are produced by placing the simulated camera at different positions. Analyses of detection efficiency, image resolution, and sensitivity are performed.
