Abstract
The U.S. Radiological Threat Reduction (USRTR) Program (previously the Off-Site Source Recovery Project) recovers and manages excess and unwanted sealed sources to reduce the threat of such sources being used in a radiological dispersal device. This is an integral part of the Department of Energy’s Global Threat Reduction Initiative’s efforts to minimize the threat posed by vulnerable, high-risk nuclear and radiological materials around the world.
