Abstract
It is necessary to control plutonium mass in solid wastes before their shipment in storage for accounting and control nuclear materials at facilities with produce or reprocess the PU-content substance. The wastes can be packed in different containers and have various matrix. All these factors significantly influence the measurement accuracy. In frame of the project of TACIS program the facility for non-destructive assay of plutonium in drums with wastes was delivered and installed in RMTC. The facility testing was carried out by RMTC specialists. They developed the measurement technique for PU mass assay in wastes. This technique may be applied in facilities of fuel cycle. The training course for facilities specialists on use this technique and device was developed. The report presents information about determination of facility parameters, techniques of wastes assay, wastes container models of different matrix, measuring results of container models. The information about training course is also presented.
