Abstract
There are a large number of disused and unwanted radiological sources from medical, industrial or research activities in Russia. Russia uses regional storage and disposal sites called RADON facilities for final disposition of these sources. Currently there are 16 RADON sites in Russia that store millions of curies of radiological sources. Securing these high-risk radiological sources is a significant priority to the International Radiological Threat Reduction program. This paper describes cooperative efforts with Russia to secure the RADONs.
