Abstract
The IPPAS was created by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to assist Member States in strengthening their national nuclear security regime. IPPAS missions provide peer advice on implementing international instruments and lAEA guidance on the protection of nuclear and other radioactive material and associated facilities. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requested an IPPAS Mission, which was conducted during the Fall of 2013. This paper describes the activities surrounding the IPPAS Mission, to include preparation for the mission, hosting the mission as well as follow-up activities. The US mission was the 60th mission performed by the IAEA.
