Abstract
The U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration's Y-12 National Security Complex completed the initial loadout of the new Highly Enriched Uranium Materials Facility this year. This included accelerating the deinventory of Y-12’s 66-year-old warehouse. This document explains, in an unclassified manner, the work accomplished during the last four years and the execution plan for accelerating the movement of Y-12's special nuclear material from the existing warehouse to the new facility. This deinventory and accelerated loadout will allow the realization of a $26 million security cost avoidance and the current status of the project will be discussed to the extent possible.
