Abstract
UrSiMTC –Ural-Siberian methodology and training centre – is a division of RFNCVNIITF. UrSiMTC with support from JRC (under TACIS program) is currently establishing a unique laboratory for modeling of modern technologies of NM control and accounting and personnel access control in future NM storage facilities (PuO2 in particular). It will be a working model (several rooms) with real computer control and accounting system for containers, wired to various control and measuring devices (electronic scales, bar-codes, optical seals, etc.) including real personnel access control system (it is a computer system including a mantrap booth equipped with radiation sensors, scales, device for identification by hand geometry, etc.) with real system for acquisition and processing data from various alarm sensors. The robot, which will be able to place the containers in appropriate places, or remove the containers from appropriate places and deliver them to the storage facility entrance-exit according to a given program, will be installed in the room modeling the storage itself. In future, the robot will be able to read barcodes and/or optical (or other) seals. It will ensure that inventory taking would go without the risk of personnel irradiation. There is no similar laboratory anywhere in the world. The laboratory will be used to demonstrate modern technologies and personnel training.
