Abstract
The Center for Security Culture and Assessment (CSCA) within the Indonesia National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN) is a recognized world leader in promoting and implementing nuclear security culture. During the period of January 29-31, 2018, BATAN held an International Workshop in Serpong led by a panel of experts arranged by the Center for International Trade and Security (CITS) of the University of Georgia (UGA) from the United States on the topic of “A Roadmap for Harmonizing and Integrating Nuclear Safety and Security Culture.” This workshop focused on practical methods and suggestions for promoting harmonization and integration of the characteristics of a viable nuclear security culture with those of a nuclear safety culture. This paper presents a summary of the issues and discussions that were raised during the presentations and correlated exchanges in the workshop, and is provided for organizations wishing to develop integration processes for a wide range of nuclear facilities and operations.
