Abstract
In a measurement campaign, carried out in the framework of a collaboration between JRC-Ispra, Belgonucleaire-Dessel and SCK/CEN-Mol 53 Pu cans were assayed. A great variety of material was made available e.g. clean Pu-oxide, MOX-powder, sintered pellets, grinding powder, homogeneous and not homogeneous, dirty materials with high impurities ... in the range of 200 - 2000 grams of Pu-tot. A well counter (e =27.5%, A =50.0 p sec) connected with the Euratom time correlation analyser (Ispra-type multiplicity counter) was used in the measurement. The measured data were analysed by the multiplicity counter technique comparing measured and calculated multiplicity distributions. Finally most of the cans were analysed by the destructive technique: the agreement with neutron multiplicity analyses was always within 3-4%.
