Abstract
The Local Area Network Material Accounting System (LANMAS) is an application software product that was developed to core nuclear material accounting and reporting requirements to satisfy Department of Energy (DOE) Nuclear Material Control and Accountability (MC&A) order requirements. The specification and development of this product has helped to provide standardized contractor business practices that are required to comply with DOE Order 474.1, Control and Accountability of Nuclear Material. This paper provides the current status of LANMAS and an update of the general direction of future LANMAS development and evolution. This includes a brief recap of the history of LANMAS, a review of the functions and features included in Version 2.6 of the application product and what the immediate plans are to further develop and refine the functions that can be performed within the LANMAS application. This paper will also discuss the support activities that are performed by the team responsible for LANMAS development.
