Report of the 53rd INMM Annual Meeting

The Institute of Nuclear Materials Managementheld a successful 53rd annualmeeting at the Renaissance Orlando Resortat Sea World in Orlando, Florida,July 15-19, 2012. The meeting featureda special opening session of presentationsorganized by the Japan Chapter of theINMM on Post-Fukushima Challengesin Safeguards and Security. This sessionwas particularly well-attended, reflectingwidespread concerns about challenges tonuclear materials management that havearisen as a result of the devastating earthquakeand tsunami that struck Japan onMarch 11, 2011. Japan Chapter PresidentYoshinori Meguro chaired the first session,and introduced the topic to the INMMattendees. Presentations included lessonslearned, safeguards implications, and theroad ahead for the nuclear industry inJapan.
