Abstract
In the world of Management of Nuclear Materials, everything works beautifully on paper when planning for activities. As we are all too well aware, when it comes to implementation of any complex activity, rarely does it go exactly as planned. Living in the world where the “rubber meets the road” requires extensive communication skills at all levels. This paper and subsequent presentation will utilize a hypothetical situation, loosely tied to actual events, to help identify potential pitfalls that may be encountered, and how to effectively respond. The presentation will also discuss the importance of documenting and incorporating lessons learned and any other notable events encountered during the implementation process.
