Abstract
The National Nuclear Security Administration Office of Global Threat Reduction’s (NNSA GTRI) and technical experts from its National Laboratories are working with the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Office of Nuclear Security and key IAEA Donor States to strengthen national and international transport security to reduce the risks of theft or diversion of nuclear and other radioactive materials in transit. GTRI officials have also been working bilaterally with other governments to enhance the security of radioactive materials during their transport from the end-user’s site to a location of final material disposition. This paper provides a brief update on the status of these efforts.
