Abstract
In-Teach is a collaborative and innovative partnership between the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Defense Nuclear Security (DNS) (NA-72), the Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Facilities Contractor's Group (EFCOG), and the National Training Center (NTC) within DOE’s Office of Health, Safety, and Security (HSS). This partnership utilizes local NNSA subject matter experts (SMEs) to train both NNSA and non-NNSA site personnel in Material Control & Accountability (MC&A) using training materials developed by the HSS NTC in a barter-like exchange between sites. In addition to saving significant amounts of training and travel funding for the Department, this initiative has significantly increased the quality of the training, as well as the number of personnel that are able to receive training. Because of the positive gains and success of this initiative, the NTC identified In-Teach as a \"best practice\" for Fiscal Year 2010 and is collaborating with NA-72 to extend this initiative in Fiscal Year 2011 to include training for Information Security and Physical Protection.
