Abstract
Scheinman began his discussion by referencing the opening plenary conference speech by Paul Lisowski on the future on nuclear power and the U.S. Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP). He continued stating that he would be addressing nuclear energy’s growth in the context of our nonproliferation efforts and where we may be headed. We have many possible futures, but our task is to work to bring about a future and conditions that provide for more nuclear energy with less proliferation, more cooperation on the means to prevent proliferation and if possible reverse it, and consensus on measures to keep the global system strong.
