Abstract
Confirming compliance with a declaration limiting the total inventory of discrete treaty- accountable items in a dynamic enterprise is a challenge. Valid sampling methods and statistical models for such an environment must be used, and limited inspection resources must be allocated efficiently. In this survey paper, we discuss a range of statistical techniques that can be used to verify compliance with a treaty limiting the number of discrete items. We also discuss how game-theoretic and discrete event simulation models of the enterprise and inspection processes can be used to supplement these classical statistical techniques.
