Abstract
As part of its MC&A Modernization Plan, the DOE Office of Security, Office of Materials Inventory and Technology Development (SO-20.3) tasked safeguards technology developers at Los Alamos, Y-12 Plant, and Li`vermore to develop an NDA Measurement Technology Matrix. The measurement matrix calls out those nuclear material types that can be measured with existing NDA technology, and those for which DOE measurement requirements and/or facility operational needs are not met or are only partially met. This paper describes the process used to develop the Measurement Technology Matrix, the major measurement needs identified, and those MC&A areas where investment in additional measurement capability will provide benefits for DOE facilities.
