Abstract
An approach to physical protection system design at research reactor facilities is presented utilizing a design tool developed through numerical manipulation of an EASI spreadsheet. Through the use of this tool, judgments can be made regarding the effectiveness of the individual components of a system, and the ideal locations for additional components can be determined. Furthermore, cost analyses can be quickly and efficiently made by determining the effectiveness of various detectors when implemented alone or in coordinated groups.
