Abstract
The development plan of nuclear power plant (NPP) in Indonesia has been announced since the year of 1956, yet up till now there is still no realization. There were several sites announced to be the site for the NPP, but the development is always stuck on public acceptance. The false understanding of nuclear safety since the first introduction of nuclear in Indonesia education system might be the reason for the lack of public acceptance. Through this research, the current teaching method and teachers’ understanding on nuclear safety and the effect on the students and people’s perception will be studied. The result of this research hoped to be a solution to improve the educational system in Indonesia to be more nuclear friendly and eventually public acceptance could be gained.
