Abstract
The International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism regulates in article 2 new types of offence and in article 5 asks each state party to adopt such measures as may be necessary to establish as criminal offences under its national law the offences set forth in article 2. Acts of nuclear terrorism may result in the gravest consequences and may pose a threat to international peace and security. So we need to devise and adopt effective and practical measures for the prevention of such acts of terrorism and for the prosecution and punishment of their perpetrators. But the criminal law has its own character and limit and we should abide them. I’ll try to analyze the articles of this convention relating to the crimial offence and compare those with that of Korea criminal law, atomic energy act, etc. Key words: International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, criminal law.
