Abstract
The project “MODERNISATION AND ENHANCEMENT OF NMAC AT PA MAYAK RT-1 PLANT” with the goal to improve NMAC at the unique Russian radiochemical plant reprocessing VVER-440 and BN-600 power reactors nuclear spent fuel assemblies is certainly one of the most important activities of the collaboration between JRC EC and Rosatom RF. The project consisted of five main activity lines: • Initial design study of the plant facilities to identify the main areas for improving NMAC • Modernisation and Implementation of Solution Monitoring System including the application software for data acquisition and processing • Modernisation and Implementation of other NMAC system elements identified in the design study, such as a hybrid K-edge densitometer amongst other NDA equipment and techniques and the necessary hardware for the setting-up of the computerised accountancy system • Near-real time accountancy (NRTA) software design and implementation to allow immediate information processing and analysis • MC&A personnel training, which forms an integral and fundamental part for successful implementation and utilisation of measurement and software compenents of the MC&A system This paper presents a brief project description and results achieved under the project both at RT-1 plant and SSC RF IPPE.
