Abstract
The Global Threat Reduction Initiative’s (GTRI) Foreign Research Reactor Spent Nuclear Fuel Acceptance Program was established by the U.S. Department of Energy in 1996, and its mission to repatriate U.S.-origin spent nuclear fuel and other weapon-grade nuclear material now extends to 2016. This paper provides an update on recent program accomplishments, current program initiatives and future activities.
