Abstract
Utilizing the actual measured data and follow up consequence assessment analysis from the WIPP radiological release of 2014, comparison between calculated and measured air monitoring data is presented. The data show that no statistically significant offset is seen with a relative error of less than 5%. A full demonstration of the back extrapolation is not presented but the ability to predict measurement values demonstrates the approach would be successful if implemented with comparable meteorological data. Approaches to reconstruction could be Monte Carlo or deterministic but these are not shown.
