Physical Protection System of Nuclear Power Plant in Japan

Japan Nuclear Security System Co.,Ltd. Japan Nuclear Security System Co.,Ltd.(JNSS) was jointly established by SECOM Co., the well known specialized security company and the three major electric power companies in Japan- Tokyo Electric Power Co., Kansai Electric Power Co.,and Chubu Electric Power Co.,in July 1977. JNSS is providing physical protection systems and security services for 10 nuclear power stations of five electric power companies in Japan. This paper presents the outline of the typical physical protection system of commercial nuclear power plants in Japan on behalf of the electric power companies.
