Abstract
Nuclear Security Summits in Washington and Seoul have served well to bring to the minds of leaders the importance of nuclear security in addressing the threat of nuclear terrorism and moreover has focussed national action to build nuclear security capacities and reduce the risk. As we consider the progress announced by leaders in Seoul, this paper will present a vision for what the third Nuclear Security Summit might produce in order to ensure work on nuclear security is sustained and well-coordinated. Industry, industry groups, the IAEA, governments, nongovernment experts, and regional groups will all need to play an important role in this regard.
