Abstract
Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (State University) – MEPhI has been developed some Master of Science graduate programs in MPC&A, nuclear material safe management, radiation safety and security, radiation safety of man and the environment for the past several years. Now we are working on development and implementation of the new Master of Science graduate programs in nuclear nonproliferation and international security. The main objective of the new Program is to train the next generations of Russian nuclear specialists who will be equipped with modern research practices and education in nonproliferation and international security issues, have a working network of related international contacts and have the skills and expertise necessary to support a sustainable Russian MPC&A Culture. Master of Science Program will cover four semesters (two years). The whole duration of training at MEPhI will be 6 years. It includes 4 years of training for B.S. degree and 2 years of additional training for new M.S. degree. New M.S. graduate program will be directed for students having education on the level of Bachelor’s degree in either Physics or Technical Physics. It is planned that two specializations (educational programs) of the Master of Science Program will be realized at MEPhI in the frames of M.S. Graduate Program “Nuclear Nonproliferation and International Security”: “Technical Aspects of Nuclear Nonproliferation and International Security” and “Radiation Safety and Control in the Problem of Nuclear Nonproliferation”. All the training courses are divided into the following groups: general university courses (2-3 obligatory courses); basic training courses (4-5 courses, common for all the specializations) and specific courses for each educational program.
