Abstract
$??QHZ??PDVWHU¶V-level certificate program in nuclear forensics is being developed at Texas A&M University with the goal of increasing the number of personnel trained in nuclear forensics. The program involves a collaboration between the Nuclear Security Science and Policy Institute, the Cyclotron Institute, and the Departments of Nuclear Engineering and Mathematics. Students enrolling will be required to take two existing Nuclear Engineering courses, a new Mathematics course, and a new radiochemistry course. The students will also spend a summer in an internship at Savannah River National Laboratory or another suitable national laboratory facility. In Spring 2010, a radiochemistry lecture series was organized where leading radiochemists from across the United States could interact with students via videoconference. This talk will discuss plans for the program, progress to date, and lessons learned from the videoconference series..
