Abstract
The purpose of the paper and corresponding presentation to the 62nd Annual Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) Meeting will be to provide an update to the NRC’s 2020 presentation, which highlighted preparations the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is currently undertaking to evaluate its readiness to license the export of advanced reactors pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations Part 110, ”Export and Import of Nuclear Equipment and Material” (10 CFR Part 110). This updated presentation will provide outcomes from the NRC’s Advanced Reactor Exports Working Group, and highlight the NRC’s outreach efforts to industry on its readiness to complete exports of advanced reactors to other countries and the export licensing process. And unlike in 2020, the NRC will also submit the public version of the Working Group report for the INMM’s consideration. The presenter hopes that this paper and presentation will spark a fulsome discussion amongst interested stakeholders as to the process for licensing the export of advanced reactors from the United States.
