Introduction of Education and Training on Nuclear Control in ROK

Abstract
Education and training on the nuclear nonproliferation became essential to the use of nuclear energy and research program. Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control (KINAC) has performed a legal education program on nuclear control. Nuclear Control means the ROK's nuclear nonproliferation regime of state's level in ROK response to the international commitment to nuclear nonproliferation. This legal education was presented in 2006, has been conducted nine times, or regularly twice every year, and named as \"nuclear control education\" for the observation of the international norms on nuclear nonproliferation and the spread of the nuclear control culture. This educational program consists of two main courses. One is given to nuclear material accounting and controlling staff, another one is given to project managers in charge of nuclear fuel cycle Research & Development. Both courses also contain a new and remedial course, which depends on whether educatee are in charge of new task on nuclear control or not. Because KINAC provide this education twice a year, they can choice once of two educational opportunities carried out in every May and November. This educational courses have covered topics such as: national policy on nuclear control, nuclear nonproliferation regulations, obligations, discussion on current issues with educatee. There have been 715 educatee from organizations such as KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute), the KHNP (Korea Hydro-Nuclear Power Co., LTD) and the KNF (Korea Nuclear Fuel), etc. Consequently, KINAC expects to strengthen nuclear nonproliferation regime of ROK and enhance nuclear transparency of ROK through this legal educatio
