Implementation of the Additional Protocol in the ROK & Transparency Policies for Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy

This paper is dealing with essentially how the Additional Protocol to the comprehensive safeguards agreement of INFCIRC/153 was implemented in the Republic of Korea(ROK) in 2004, and also what is the core of the policy in its implementation. The paper describes in detail the preliminary measures that the ROK government has taken for the preparation of ratification and of entering into force of the Additional Protocol. After its entering into force since Feb. 19, 2004, the ROK government clarified all nuclear activities of past, present and of the future in preparing the initial declaration to the IAEA, which included the R & D activities of the nuclearenergy related sites.
