Abstract
The Safeguards AntiNeutrino Detector System (SANDS), a joint Sandia National Laboratories and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory project, has been in- stalled and operational at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) since late 2003. The goal of this system is to monitor the ¯ssile content of a nearby reactor core in real time by measuring the °ux of antineutrinos emanating from it, thus providing an additional tool to the safeguards community. In this paper we present preliminary results from the detector, including those from a reactor refuelling outage.
