Abstract
In Korea, one of the major issues for safeguards implementation is the spent fuel transfer verification at CANDU type reactors. The approach of the unattended monitoring is aiming to improve the safeguards measures over the transfer campaign and reduce inspection effort currently required by the IAEA, NNCA, and the facility operator. The field trial was applied to Wolsong Unit 2 spent fuel bay (SFB) and Unit 1 dry storage area until July, 2005. This paper briefly reviews current status, installation process and issues to be resolved on the unattended monitoring system.
