Abstract
The Office of Nonproliferation and International Security in the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration established the Nuclear Nonproliferation and International Safeguards (NNIS) Fellowship program in 2010 to encourage highly talented students to become involved in a program of mission-related study and research at universities and national laboratories throughout the United States. Effective in September 2011, fifteen NNIS Fellows will be appointed to the program. These students will be enrolled at nine different universities. Eleven universities have been designated by the program sponsors to participate in the program and eight national laboratories are currently participating. The annual stipend paid to the Fellows is $26,700 and the program covers tuition and fees up to $23,600 a year.
