Abstract
Excellent documentation is a key element in developing and maintaining unattended and remote monitoring (UNARM) systems efficiently. After a system has been initially installed, its configuration information can easily be lost or forgotten when the staff changes if there is no written documentation. The new documentation method we have developed ensures important information is recorded so that a duplicate UNARM system could be created from the information in this documentation alone. This documentation method is geared towards Los Alamos National Laboratory UNARM systems. However, it is a step toward documenting and standardizing all UNARM systems. Methods of documentation will be discussed.
