Abstract
This paper reports the development of safeguards inspection for Wolsong reactors at TCNC. KEPCO is operating four CANDU reactors which are on-loading reactors, and planning to have two more in the future. Safeguards implementation on CANDU reactors is quite complex and requires more safeguards inspection efforts. TCNC has developed three safeguards inspection equipment to optimize national safeguards inspection efforts for national inspection with potential use of IAEA. Spent CANDU Fuel Bundle Serial Number Identifier has been devised for reading he serial numbers of spent fuel bundles in the storage pond. Spent CANDU verifier has been designed for verifying spent fuel inventory in the storage pond. And Spent CANDU Fuel Finger-Printer at Dry Storage has been developed for dry storage inventory verification. Those equipment was field tested, performed well, and are being used in national safeguards inspection. And it was internally evaluated that these equipment played a crucial role for national safeguards inspection.
