The Development of the Nuclear Material Accounting System for PIEF at KAERI

The Integrated Safeguards (IS) has been applied at KAERI since July 2008 and Random Interim Inspections (RIIs) have been performed accordingly. To cope effectively with RII under IS, KAERI developed a computerized nuclear material accounting system named KASIS (KAeri Safeguards Information treatment System) to treat the data by on-line. Therefore, all facility operators at KAERI have to record the nuclear material accounting data to KASIS on the intranet at KAERI site level. However, the operator of each facility has been managed and maintained the nuclear material accounting data including internal transfer by using the excel program at facility level. Thus, it is difficult to manage the internal accounting data and prepare the inspection documents such as inventory list within 2 hours during RII. Also, some errors such as rounding error can be occurred. To minimize the error on inspection document and to reduce the effort on the facility operators, KAERI developed the nuclear material accounting system for HANARO and PIEF (Post Irradiation Examination Facility) in 2012 and 2013, respectively. This paper describes a development of web based nuclear material accounting system for PIEF/HANARO and integration of KASIS.
