Abstract
The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) has provided the annual report on inventory and inventory changes of nuclear material on Canada and Australia origins under bilateral nuclear cooperation agreements. In addition, KAERI had reported the status of nuclear material inventory and inventory changes per origin using IAEA accounting reports (ICR, PIL) according to the notice of Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC). The NSSC revised the notice to exclude the origin information which included in the nuclear material accounting reports in order to effectively manage the inventory of nuclear material per origin. KAERI should report the inventory status of nuclear material per origin to NSSC semi-annually according to the revised notice. To manage the inventory status per origin, it should be considered on MUF, loss of nuclear material as well as inventory changes such as shipment and receipt etc. Therefore, it is necessary for KAERI to develop the management system on origin of nuclear material to efficiently manage inventory and its change and report them to NSSC. This paper reviews a management approaches on origins of nuclear material and the development method for the origin management system.
