Abstract
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), with internal funding provided through the LANLPathfinder Fund demonstrated the latest most advanced list-mode or time stamping dataacquisition system for use in nuclear safeguards or nuclear emergency response applications. The Advanced List Mode Module (ALMM) combines the techniques for safeguards andemergency response applications with the recently developed architecture used on the latestinstruments for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The ALMM becomes one in afamily of instruments that employ the same electronics architecture and have the same look andfeel allowing users to easily move between instrument types. Demonstrations of the ALMMwere performed using the LANL Epithermal Neutron Multiplicity Counter (ENMC) and a widevariety of 252Cf and Pu sources covering a wide array of source strengths. This paper describesthe ALMM instrument design, as well as demonstration results.
