Abstract
The purpose of this project is to promote the transparency of the nuclear activities and to strengthen the cooperation as well as advance the technology by actively conducting in the MSSP. ROK has contributed 6,300,000 euro(approx.2%) to the IAEA according to ROK's GDP level. On the other hand, in order to perform for ROK's safeguards inspection, IAEA spends 4,400,000 euro which accounts for about 70 percent of the ROK's total contributions every year. Considering on average IAEA spends 40 percent to Safeguards area, ROK is most likely to benefit from IAEA. Thus, the IAEA has limited resource and manpower, IAEA relied on the member states to perform the safeguards effectively and efficiently. Currently, ROK is actively supporting and contributing tasks to IAEA in-cash and in-kind. ROK has performed 28 tasks since 1997. 14 tasks have been completed and rest 14 tasks are ongoing. Among them, ROK has been focusing on SG approaches as well as training, information and so on. Based on the systematical review, it would be expected that it will advance the safeguards technology more focused on the potential support to the developing countries through the MSSP.
