Abstract
This paper presents a computation tool that has been developed to analyze the stage ?ows and concentrations in gas centrifuge cascades that are operated in an off-designed manner. A non-decaying axial ?ow model is used to determine the separative performance of a user-de?ned centrifuge based on machine length, radius, wall speed, gas temperature, and circulation index. A squared-off cascade is determined based on user input and serves as a base design cascade for comparison. The user speci?es a ?ow scale factor that reduces the cascade product ?ow rate and stage up?ow rates. The machine performance is recalculated by modeling the centrifuge as a theoretical cascade with new feed and up?ow rates, and the new cascade gradient is calculated. A test case with a scale factor of 2 is presented as well as a centrifuge performance map.
