Abstract
PAPER NOT AVAILABLE ABSTRACT: An automated tank monitoring system has been installed in a Plutonium processing plant at the Savannah River Site. This system is designed to read tank instrumentation and display die calculated volume, mass and density of connected tanks meeting the requirements of DOE Order 5633.3. The system has a self checking feature diat provides a high level of assurance that the instruments are functioning at a sarisfactory level. In addition, both cost and radiation exposure are significandy reduced by eliminating calibration checks and allowing instrument calibrations to be performed on an \"as needed\" basis. As part of die measurement control features, the system periodically displays self generated control charts and checks die variability of die tank instruments to determine if die readings are \"accountability grade.\"
