Abstract
The measures that States implement in order to protect nuclear materials and related equipment from theft, unauthorized diversion or sabotage are established to accomplish the objectives ofthe physical protection State System. Every State that has nuclear or radioactive installations and materials should design and implement an effective system of physical protection. In latest years, the international community has shown an increasing interest in the adequacy of the physical protection measures adopted by the States. In the design and implementation of such a system, the continuous evaluation of the level of security and the adequacy of the physical protection measures at the nuclear installations is an essential element. States could then help themselves to perform the above-mentioned evaluation through the implementation and use of specialized software. The Nuclear Regulatory Authority of Argentina has developed a new version of a computing model named \"IntruBuster\" Version 2.0 to evaluate the integrity ofthe physical protection system implemented at nuclear installations. The paper describes in general terms this software as a tool to evaluate the physical protection system applied at nuclear installations.
